BIOGRAPHY

Basit Zain is a design educator, practitioner, and creative technology professional with over 19 years of academic experience and more than 23 years of professional experience. He brings a unique blend of academic leadership, studio-based teaching, and international industry practice to the field of Graphic Design and Visual Communication. His teaching philosophy emphasizes hands-on learning, creative exploration, critical thinking, and practical application, encouraging students to develop their individual creative voices while understanding the evolving relationship between art, technology, and design. His areas of expertise include Graphic Design, UX/UI, Visual Communication, Interactive Design, 2D Animation, Motion Design, Stop Motion, and Film & Video Production. His international professional experience across Pakistan, the UAE, and Thailand includes working with leading organizations and brands such as Marks & Spencer, Kawasaki, ACE Hardware, Central Group, The 1, TrueID, and Bangkok Bank. His research interests focus on the intersection of Generative AI, Visual Communication Design, Design Education, and creative practice, exploring how emerging technologies can support human creativity, authorship, and innovation. He is committed to developing industry-relevant design education and nurturing creative, critical, and adaptable designers prepared for the evolving global design landscape.
