EXPLORING THE ART OF STORYTELLING:
STORYBOARD AND ANIMATICS MIDJURY
OF 6TH SEMESTER ANIMATION DESIGN
Ms. Syeda Rija Gillani from the Animation Department recently
organized the Storyboard, Animatics, and Color Theory Jury for
the 6th semester, providing students with a platform to
showcase their creative storytelling and animation techniques.
The jury was conducted by Basharat Ali and Zeerak Naqvi from
NCA, renowned for their exceptional contributions to 2D
animation. Their expertise offered students invaluable insights,
focusing on dynamic angles, color palettes, character arcs,
background establishment, impactful shots, and storytelling
clarity in animation.
The jurors provided detailed feedback, encouraging students to
refine their work and think critically about their artistic choices.
This constructive critique highlighted areas such as staging,
timing, and visual composition, pushing students to elevate
their storytelling abilities. The session also served as an
opportunity for students to understand how professional
animators evaluate work and use feedback to improve
their craft.
Beyond the technical aspects, the jury emphasized professionalism
and effective presentation. Students learned how to articulate
their ideas, defend their creative decisions, and handle
constructive criticism with confidence. By the end of the session,
they gained not only new skills but also a deeper appreciation
for storytelling and a renewed enthusiasm for advancing in the
field of animation.

MODEL BY FTV STUDENTS
The students of semester 6th and 7th students from the
Department of Film & TV demonstrated their artistic ingenuity
during the midterm examination for the course Production
Design, taught by Ms. Iram Sana. The exam involved the
creation of detailed models, allowing students to practically
apply their understanding of design and architecture.
This hands-on approach not only enabled students to grasp
the fundamentals of spatial planning and set design but also
encouraged them to think critically about aesthetics,
functionality, and storytelling in production design. Each
model reflected the students' creativity and technical skills,
showcasing their ability to conceptualize and execute
designs that could translate effectively to on-screen
environments.
Ms. Iram Sana guided the students throughout the process,
ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject and
emphasizing the significance of production design in visual
storytelling.
