Centre for Climate and Environment Research CCER visits Institute for Art and Culture IAC

Centre for Climate and Environment Research (CCER) held an interactive session at Institute for Art and Culture (IAC) where Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dur-e-Shahwar introduced her team members. The goal was to share the ongoing projects of CCER, which are based on saving electricity, keeping environment healthy and making optimal use of natural resources.

Dr. Wazir Akhbar, one of the stake holders, hosted the event and explained different architectural projects which are under construction keeping in mind Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). This also includes framework to save energy. The organization has plans to offer different workshops for students where they will be able to learn about sustainable development goals along with internships for hands-on-experience. Nilofer Iren Soysal, design architect, from Turkey discussed various construction models used to save electricity and consume natural resources. Dr. Muhammad Arfan talked about the impact of global warming in Pakistan and the difficulties researchers face due to lack of data and complex administrative system. Sami Naeem Khan, Senior Research Fellow, CCER briefed the audience about greenhouse gas and their collaboration projects with DHA Lahore.

A question answer session was conducted. CCER team offered IAC faculty and students to come up with creative ideas. The aim is to involve students on CCER projects. Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ashraf appreciated and thanked team CCER for sharing valuable knowledge with IAC faculty.
