On the path of serving society, and keeping it as a prime mission, Institute for Art and Culture (IAC) in collaboration with CCER, conducted a Seminar on ROLE OF MEDIA IN CLIMATE SENSITIZATION. Zunaira Azhar who is a well known face of Pakistan’s broadcast and digital journalism, was the guest speaker at the event. Speaking at the occasion, she said that, “Pakistan’s media industry has ignored the major topic of climate change. Rarely, any political show talks about global warming and other natural disasters. No steps have been taken to handle natural disasters due to which there are chances that in near future the country will suffer more.”
Chief Operating Officer (COO) CCER, Dur e Shahwar emphasised on the importance to contribute in climate change awareness campaign as a responsible citizen. She encouraged the students to play their part in achieving sustainable development goals.
The Center for Climate and Environmental Research (CCER) is an independent and autonomous research & development center established by the Institute for Art and Culture (IAC).
The seminar was attended by Registrar IAC Brig. (R) Safeer Vaseer, Dean School of Art, Dr. Shahida Manzoor and a large number of IAC faculty and students. The seminar was hosted by Warda Qamar, an IAC student. In the end, Zunaira Azhar was presented a shield by the University.
