Institute for Art and Culture (IAC) held its first Thesis Display of Film and TV (FTV) Department (School of Digital and Cinematic Art). The jurors included renowned Directors of Pakistan Film Industry, Syed Noor and Shehzad Rafique to watch the thesis films by the students. The topics of the films revolved in creating awareness e.g. minorities in Pakistan (religious harmony), women empowerment, stress, depression, unemployment, psychological and gangster genres. The students were encouraged and motivated by the jurors remarks, who also appreciated the efforts of IAC in supporting its students towards achieving excellence.
Pro. V.C. and Dean School of Digital and Cinematic Art, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Khan and Head of Department FTV Mr. Syed Urooj Samdani, were also present in the jury to encourage the students. The jurors were highly impressed by the student’s work and remarked that the work of majority of students seemed very professional. Syed Noor liked one film to such an extent that he offered the director of the film not only his full technical and financial support in producing the sequel of his film but also offered that his wife, renowned artist Saima Noor will play the film’s leading role.
The student’s were very excited in this jury experience with the film experts. Both Syed Noor and Shehzad Rafique appreciated the efforts of IAC in supporting its students in their endeavours. IAC thanked both the jurors for taking out precious time out of their busy work schedules to come and judge the student’s work.
