
Renowned singer, music composer and social worker, one of Pakistan’s finest musician Jawad Ahmad visited Institute for Art and Culture (IAC), for an interactive session with the students. Registrar Brig (R) Muhammad Safeer Vaseer along with HOD Film and Television (FTV), Syed Urooj Samdani welcomed the honorable guest with great enthusiasm.
Brig (R) Muhammad Safeer Vaseer said that Jawad Ahmad is a role model for the youth. Since last many years he has excelled as a musician and also made a name for himself in the social sector as a tireless worker. HOD (FTV) Syed Urooj Samdani recalled the memories with Jawad Ahmad from GCU as university friends.He recalled that Jawad always had a great personality and an intellectual approach towards life. It was Jawad along with Ali Azmat as the Jupiters Band that laid the foundation for underground music in Pakistan.
Jawad Ahmad shared his journey from being a musician to a politician and the establishment of Barabri Party. His family wanted him to complete his education whereas his passion for music and politics was emerging. His forefathers enjoyed playing musical instruments from where his interest in music developed. He said that the entertainment industry i.e singers, models and actors have a huge responsibility to reform the society, bring about a change and project Pakistan’s positive image globally. Keeping aside religious differences, promoting art and culture internationally can help in the progression of the country.
Moreover, he shared his views on the transformation of society, where tolerance, intelligence and kindness are major factors to induce. The importance of education and women empowerment can help to improve the economic areas of Pakistan. The developed country of the world has the majority of females working and contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Respect and opportunities should be given equally to rich and poor, males and females as together we can grow as a nation.
Jawad Ahmad thanked IAC for this opportunity to interact with the students. He was given a standing ovation by the participants after his emotional and heart rendering speech.
In the end, he enthralled the huge number of students and faculty members at the event by Live singing of his famous songs. Registrar Brig (R) Muhammad Safeer Vaseer along with HOD (FTV) Syed Urooj Samdani presented a shield to Jawad Ahmad. The event was hosted by Warda Qamar student of IAC.
