As part of the Baisakhi celebrations this year, the Institute for Art and Culture (IAC) will be holding an academic conference on April 10-11, 2020 and a Baisakhi Mela on April 12, 2020. A meeting was held of esteemed individuals who have contributed greatly to the intellectual, artistic, and cultural life of Punjab to discuss several ideas for the Baisakhi conference. Apart from the main goal of reviving the tradition of Baiskahi Mela, the largest mela of Punjab, the conference intends to discuss topics related to the literary contributions, education, politics, economics and social aspects of Punjab and its Culture. Among the notable attendees were, Dr. Nabeela Rehman, HOD Punjabi at Punjab University, Prof. Dr. Saeed Khawar Bhutta, HOD Punjabi at GC university Lahore, Ms. Saeeda Deep, an activist and recipient of the Benazir award, Prof. Tauheed Chatta from GC University Faisalabad and Radio Anchor-person Mr. Amir Riaz. The panel discussion was led by the Vice Chancellor of IAC, Prof. Sajida Haider Vandal, the Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Pervaiz Vandal, and the Punjabi faculty, Professors Mushtaq Soofi, Iqbal Qaiser, Naveed Alam and Nainsukh.
