Course Description

Fashion Illustration is the art of communicating fashion ideas in a visual form that originates from illustration, drawing and painting and is also known as Fashion sketching It is mainly used by fashion designers to brainstorm their ideas on paper or digitally In this course students will work with a professional illustrator who will help them find their visual language and unlock their creativity through drawing, from concept to completion
Each week students will have sessions with teacher and will learn new techniques, gain inspiration and practical insight from the work of great illustrators, practice to develop skills, and share work for constructive discussion and feedback Students will be guided through a series of tutorials and practical assignments that will help them execute new designs, concepts and ideas

Course Objectives

This course will provide a fresh perspective on fashion drawing and it is specifically aimed to liberate the student and inspire them to sketch, illustrate, explore diverse approaches, mediums and techniques and find their own way within the subject. During the Drawing part of the course, students will learn how to draw from the observation and how to communicate fashion designs on the figure, individually as garments and as a part of a Fashion Design line up.

Teaching Methodology

The course is 100 practical and will be taught through a series of assignments, peer learning, and presentations along with demonstrations and audio visual aids for practical activities Research work, class juries and peer discussions will be done in each assignment
