DYSLEXIA

PROJECT INTRODUCTION

“Dyslexia” is the awareness campaign which aims to communicate with those people who are not affected by this disability.

PROJECT PROCESS

Creating a real life experience of what a world of a dyslexic person looks and feels like. The project outcome is strategically placed set of installations creating an immersive experience. Targeting the peers, educators and academic circle this experience will bring the challenges of a dyslexic person to life.

PROJECT SCOPE

Dyslexia can have a profound impact on a student’s ability to read and write. Without these invaluable language skills, students with dyslexia can experience avoidable and lifelong educational, social, and economic problems. Many times, because of the fact of not being able to do these things, one’s self-esteem can be compromised resulting in behaviors such as anger, frustration, avoidance, to name a few.

In Pakistan, the prevalence rate of dyslexia among children is 15–20% which means that about 12 million children are in need of help. According to a study based in Lahore Pakistan, students in public schools have never been diagnosed with dyslexia before due to a lack of awareness and assessment tools for diagnosis in schools.
