IAC – France Collaboration

Dr. Pierrick Le Jeune, Cooperation Attaché, Cultural and Cooperation Department, Embassy of France, visited the Institute for Art and Culture (IAC), Lahore, to explore the possibility of a formal link between IAC and French educational and cultural institutions. Vice Chancellor Prof. Sajida Vandal briefed him on the cutting edge programs being offered in the fields of animation, game design and film and television at IAC. He has recommended suitable partner institutions based in France, which IAC can collaborate with, namely RUBIKA and Les Gobelins, both educational institutions that are leading the way in 3D animation and industrial design. He also invited the Faculty at IAC to visit Paris to attend the ‘Paris Games Week’ in October 2019, an ambitious trade fair for video games held annually at the Paris expo Porte de Versailles. A team of Faculty members will travel to Paris on October 28th and will attend the Paris Games week event and will meet with representatives of the schools mentioned above. The future looks bright for IAC!

Mr. Ali Akbar Rezaifard, the Cultural Attaché from the Cultural Centre Consulate General, Islamic Republic of Iran, visited IAC to boost cooperation and collaboration between Iran and IAC. Several themes of mutual interest was discussed including arranging an Iranian Film festival at IAC and setting up an Autak-i-Iran Shinasi at IAC.

An MOU will be signed between IAC and the Cultural Centre Consulate General, Islamic Republic of Iran, to provide a solid framework for further cooperation in areas of Film, Cinema and Art.

Dr. Kaiser Rafiq has launched a tourism channel named “Discover Pakistan”, which will focus on presenting a positive image of Pakistan, as well as all the beauty of nature and wealth of cultural and historical heritage it has to offer.  He is a prolific businessman and entrepreneur and IAC is happy to announce that he has agreed to sign an MOU as a partner with IAC. This MOU will include among other things, collaboration between the animation dept, film making and the TV Channel Discover Pakistan, producers exchange program and other research conducted by IAC, joint collaboration projects, commission assignments to IAC to promote research based tourism and internships and employment for IAC students.
