ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF SADU IN IAPEX 2024
The School of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism (SADU) faculty had a
productive meeting with the newly appointed Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr.
Najma Najam, marking the beginning of a collaborative era. The meeting
provided an opportunity for the Pro Vice Chancellor to learn about the
expertise and specializations of faculty members from the Architecture,
Interior Design, and Construction Management departments. Through
one-on-one discussions, the Pro Vice Chancellor engaged with each faculty
member, understanding their strengths and research interests. The meeting
focused on identifying key areas for development, addressing existing
challenges, and exploring innovative initiatives to enhance the department's
growth, including aligning departmental goals with the university's vision,
enhancing research collaborations and industry partnerships, strengthening
student-centric programs and services, and addressing infrastructure and
resource development needs. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with
the Pro Vice Chancellor and SADU faculty committed to working together
towards the department's advancement under her leadership.
The School of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism
actively participated in IAPEX 2024, the annual building
materials exhibition organized by the Institute of
Architects Pakistan, held at Expo Centre Lahore from
November 1-3, 2024. Students from the university
served enthusiastically as volunteers and engaged in
quizzes, seminars, and design competitions alongside
faculty members. This premier event brought together
architecture professionals, academics, and students
from Lahore and other cities in Pakistan, offering
valuable insights and networking opportunities. Our
students benefited from engaging with industry
experts, exploring cutting-edge building materials,
and gaining an understanding of market trends and
available resources. The exhibition provided a unique
platform for the exchange of ideas, best practices, and
innovative solutions among architects, designers, and
builders, strengthening connections across students,
professionals, and academia. Through participation in
IAPEX 2024, our university reinforced its commitment to
experiential learning and industry engagement,
enriching the educational journey of our students and
fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation in
architecture and design.
